1. June’s First Friday on South Side Bethlehem

Friday from 7 to 10 pm, South Side Bethlehem

This First Friday is new and improved!! Come visit 40 different places for music, art, food and a festive summer Friday night. It really doesn’t get much better than this. 2. Start Making Sense: Talking Heads Tribute

Saturday from 9pm to Midnight, Starfish Brasserie, 51 W. Broad St., Bethlehem

Ok, whether or not you like the Talking Heads, if you haven’t seen this act, you just have to. This is one of the most incredible local music performances you will see in the Valley… I promise. And if you do like the Talking Heads… you are in for a real treat. Just don’t be surprised if you’re still thinking about it on Sunday. And the drinks at Starfish are sublime. 3. Riverside Pet Parade

Saturday from 11am to 2pm (Yappy Hour from 2 to 4), Riverside Park, Downtown Easton

If you love animals… dogs in particular, make sure you get here! Replete with a dog wedding, live music, pet-related vendors, and the parade, itself, this is a barkin’ good time. Yappy Hour at participating downtown restaurants after the event. See this page for more information.

4. Official Opening of Galerie Marta Whistler

Saturday from 5 to 9pm, 158-B Northampton St., Easton

Stop by and see Easton’s newest fine art gallery and the work of Marta Whistler.

5. Lehigh Valley with Love Concert Series: Peacekeeper, Foreplay and Wolfman and the Mutts

Saturday from 7 to 11pm at Rock n Joe Coffee Lounge & Eats, 1 W. Broad St., Bethlehem

Thanks to Lehigh Valley with Love, the Valley has more musical performances to love. Thanks for spreading the love! From the fb event page: Come watch three talented local bands who have been making the rounds in the Lehigh Valley Music Scene for the price of a sunset… The show is free, donations are welcome.

6. 2010 Kilted Celtic Crawl

Sunday from 10am to 6pm, Northside to Southside Bethlehem

I don’t think a kilt is required to do this crawl (and raise money for Celtic Classic… now that’s drinking for a good cause!) From their fb event page: Join us on June 6th as we march down Main Street in Bethlehem, PA with pipe bands and all your friends from the Celtic Cultural Alliance (CCA), as we make our way to the south side of Bethlehem to enjoy an afternoon visiting local pubs, interesting shops and other attractions. A pub crawl will be organized when we reach the Steel Memorial. We will come together again at a designated time at the Steel Memorial and parade back to north side of town. We will make one more pub stop on the north side.

7. Easton Yoga –  Flow Yoga Class with Live Tabla

Sunday from 10am to Noon, Easton Yoga, 524 Northampton St., Easton

If you’re looking for some extra motivation to get to a yoga class, this could do it. This 2 hour yoga class with Alicia of Easton Yoga will be accompanied by live tabla by Easton native and Bethlehem resident Jamie Kostura. Don’t know what tabla is? Go here.

8. 26th Annual 7th Street Community Fest

Saturday from 1-6 pm, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 417 North Seventh Street, Allentown

Join in for a day filled with fun, games, music, lots of entertainment, kids crafts, baked goods, plant sales, good food, (TV, Grill and Grocery card) Raffle, Gift Basket Auction, Miller Blood Mobile, community organizations and much more!  Rain or Shine. Call 610-434-3943 for more information. All proceeds realized from this festival are distributed back to neighborhood organizations in the 7th Street Community.

9. Community Music School Student Recitals

Saturday and Sunday at 1pm, Allentown Symphony Hall, 23 N. 6th St., Allentown

Back to back recitals June 5, Saturday and June 6, Sunday! Both at 1:00 pm in the Rodale Community Room, 23 N Sixth Street, Allentown. Recitals are free and open to the public. The June 6 recital is special; it is the GALA year end recital; at the conclusion of the program, CMS awards several Scholaships to students for continued study in fall at CMS.
