1. 33rd Annual Lebanese Heritage Days
Saturday from 5 pm to 12 am, Sunday from 11 am to 10 pm, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 55 S. 4th St., Easton
Hands down, this is one of my favorite events of the year! For 2 days, this church parking lot is transformed into a festival of epic proportions… live music, dancing, amazing food and adult beverages for those of age. You can also BYOH (hookah) or buy one there. People from Lebanese communities from all over the East Coast convene here this weekend. If you’ve never been, it’s worth it for the food alone. Indoor and outdoor seating are both available. See you there!
2. ArtWalk in Historic Downtown Bethlehem
Saturday from 4 to 9 pm, Broad and Main Sts., Bethlehem
Come stroll your streets of Bethlehem while local artists and musicians line the streets! This is a great opportunity to see oil, acrylic, watercolor and pen painting, jewelery making, pottery crafting, LIVE music and kids’ art IN ACTION! Artists will line Main St sidewalks and Broad St sidewalks! KIDS CORNER will be inside of the Main St Commons. Bring your child for down for some finger painting, a coloring contest, sidewalk chalk art and face painting and ENTER TO WIN A TRIP FOR 4 TO DISNEY WORLD! Upcoming ArtWalk on August 28th. 3. Warren County Farmers’ Fair
Starts Sunday, Rte. 519, 3 miles north of Phillipsburg, NJ
Starting Sunday and running through August 7, the 73rd annual Warren County Farmers’ Fair, features the 10th annual Balloon Festival and the 13th annual Traditional Arts Expo. Affordable fun. Admission prices that won’t make you have a cow.
4. Easton Restaurant Week
Starts Sunday, Various Restaurants, Easton
Restaurants in Easton’s Historic District, College Hill and Palmer Township will take part in the most delicious week of summer. Participating restaurants are: Sette Luna Tuscan Trattoria, Colonial Pizza and Pub, Pizza D’Oro Italian Restaurant, Marblehead Chowder House, Ocean, River Grille, Vintage Restaurant and Bar, Phoenicia Middle Eastern Cuisine, and Valenca Restaurant. Participating locations during Restaurant Week will have fix-priced menus of $8 for lunch and $30 for dinner and patrons can register at each location for a chance to win a $25 gift card to their favorite Restaurant and a pair of tickets to the State Theatre.
5. Blue Sky Mixing it Up charity Event
Saturday from 1 to 3 pm, Blue Sky Café, 22 W. 4th St., Bethlehem
This is a sure to be a seriously fun charity event… the Blue Sky employees are switching jobs! Servers will be cooking and cooks will be serving! This is a ‘Pay what you want Event.” ALL proceeds will be going to fight breast cancer. This includes any gratuity as well.
6. CD Release Party at Wildflower Café
Saturday from 9 to 11:30 pm, Wildflower Café, 316 S. New St., Bethlehem
Come out to one of the area’s best little places to see live music and celebrate the release of The Dan DeChellis Trio’s latest release, A Sarcastic Welcome.
7. Benefit for the Children of Denise Merhi
Sunday from 2 to 7 pm, The Jacksonian Club, 119 Main St., Nazareth
As announced by Trip Frogg on the facebook event page: Stop the violence and stop the pain… this family needs our help. Tickets are $15.00, (all going to the children), there will be food, silent auctions, raffles, and fun things for the kids. Cash bar (extremely economical). The entertainment will be start @ 2:30 w/Ozone Riders. Also performing will be American Idol’s Tyler Grady, The Block, and TRIP FROGG and Elle. This is a non-smoking event open to the public. Please come & show your support. Kids are free. TOM RING will be co hosting this event and he will be guest bartending. Co-sponsors are the Jacksonian, the bands, Brown Daub Kia, LVMA 12,Women in Art in Pa. and others.
8. The Finale Cabaret at PA Shakespeare Festival
Sunday at 7:30 pm, DeSales University, 2755 Station Ave., Center Valley
A chance to see PSF’s favorite actors performing scenes and songs, Shakespeare and more in a refreshing and spontaneous event on the Main Stage.
9. Steve Martin at the State Theatre… and it’s not what you’re expecting!
Sunday at 6 pm, State Theatre Center for the Arts, 453 Northampton St., Easton
Not only is Steve Martin a brilliant comedian, he also plays the banjo! You can see him play live with The Steep Canyon Rangers as he performs bluegrass and banjo tunes from his Grammy-winning album, The Crow.
