1. Kiev Night – Famous Russian/Ukrainian 5-Course Dinner
Friday at 6 to 9 pm, Black Forest Deli, 7th Ave. and Union Blvd., Bethlehem
This authentic ethnic dinner is one of the more unique culinary experiences the Valley has to offer right now, thanks to mother-daughter team and owners Malena and Vica. Dinner is served family-style with everyone sitting together. It’s a great opportunity to meet some new friends and try a new cuisine. Reservations are recommended.
2. Dancing on the Thirds
Friday from 8 to 11 pm, Third St. Alliance, 41 N. 3rd St., Easton
Learn a new dance or practice an old one, all in a relaxed atmosphere in casual dress at the Main St. Initiative’s monthly event. Instruction is then followed by open dance. $10 Admission fee.
3. Bank St. Band Plays Mothers
Saturday starting at 9:30 pm, Mothers Bar, 3 Lehns Ct., Easton
Come out to check out this iconic Easton bar which is under new management and support these young local musicians at the same time.
4. It Ain’t Just Another Spaghetti Dinner
Saturday from 4 to 8 pm, Career Institute of Technology, 5335 Kesslersville Rd., Easton

5. St. Patrick’s Day Parade Eve Pub Crawl
Saturday from 6 pm to 12 am, Allentown’s West End
This year’s participating pubs include: Jack Callaghan’s Ale House, Tavern on Liberty, Greg’s West End Saloon, Ringer’s Roost, Stooge’s, Volpe’s, Nino’s and Bar Cibi. Registratration is $15 and includes extra special gift for all participants!
6. 54th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday at 1 pm, Begins at Allentown’s Fairgrounds and goes through Allentown’s West End

7. William Allen High School Chorale Concert to Benefit Familes Affected by the Gas Explosion
Friday at 7 pm, William Allen High School Gymnasium, 126 N. 17th St., Allentown
From the invitation to the public: The public is invited to the William Allen High School Chorale Benefit Concert to raise relief funds for the victims of last month’s 13th Street tragedy. On the night of February 9th, a gas explosion rocked the 500 block of 13th Street, leveling several homes and damaging dozens of others. Five people were killed in the explosion, and numerous others left homeless. Some families related to Allen students were affected. Overall, about 50 properties were blighted by the blast, and the victims’ lives will continue to be disrupted for many months and years to come. The Chorale’s goal is to raise at least $2,000. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the victims affected by this tragedy. Tickets are $5 at the door.

I’ve been walking for a long time. It’s how I get around, get some exercise, clear my head, flesh out ideas, and remember to breathe. The wonderful thing about taking a walk – well, there’s many – but one of the most wonderful is that it’s free and you never know where you’re going to end up or who you will meet. Here’s a lovely little walk in Easton for you, a wild one in Bethlehem and some in Allentown. Happy trails and a happier spring!
