1. Easton Farmers’ Market Season Opening
Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, Easton Centre Square, Easton
It’s opening day of the 259th season of this iconic farmers’ market in the Circle! Come down and celebrate the first National Herb Day Festival sponsored by Quartz Hill Farm. Opening remarks, ribbon cutting and special announcements will be at 9 am. Starting at 9:30 am, Asphalt Orchestra performs throughout Centre Square.
2. Cinco de Mayo-themed First Friday
Friday from 6 to 10 pm, Southside Bethlehem
Let Cinco de Mayo continue for another night! This month will feature food samples from Looper’s Grill & Bar, Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub and Tulum! Each business will host samples of select authentic cuisine, chips & salsa, guacamole and margarita samples! Come out to listen to themed live music discounts and fun for May’s First Friday! Also, stop at Homebase Skateshop and check out their unique art installation and Loose Threads Boutique to wish them a happy 2nd anniversary.
3. “Cabaret”
Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, Civic’s 19th St. Theatre, 527 N. 19th St., Allentown
Winner of 8 Oscars and 12 Tony Awards, Kander & Ebb’s musical “Cabaret” focuses on the seedy and indulgent nightlife at the Kit Kat Klub in 1930s Berlin – a spot that serves as an oasis from a country undergoing a dangerous transition. While a young English cabaret performer strikes up a relationship with an American writer, the world outside the walls of the cabaret starts a slow spiral into madness.
4. Ultra Kings Live at Riverside Park
Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 at Riverside Park, Larry Holmes Dr., Easton
This is the first Live at Riverside event at the newly refurbished Riverside Amphitheater featuring the Ultra Kings! At the newly refurbished Riverside Amphitheater. Sponsored by Porters’ Pub and in memory of Robin Porter.
5. Opening Ceremonies of the Art of Urban Environments Festival and Chansonnette’s Fringe Fest
Saturday starting at 11 am, 12th & Northampton Sts., Easton
This is the kick-off of the Art of Urban Environments Festival and Chansonnette Fringe Fest, a six-month long festival including art installations by 11 different artists which will be on view in unexpected areas throughout the city. New York City’s Asphalt Orchestra, described as part spectacle, part half-time show and part cutting-edge contemporary music concert. A 12-member carnival, members play music from Bjork, Charles Mingus, Frank Zappa and Swedish metal band Meshuggah, as well as new pieces written for the band by Yoko Ono and other musical luminaries. The performance will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by remarks from Easton Mayor Sal Panto, Lafayette College President Daniel Weiss and Chansonnette Board member Evelyn Gulick. This is an event not to be missed.
6. My Big Fat Greek Fundraiser Lunch
Saturday from 12 to 2 pm, Mayflower Lunch, 622 W. Broad St., Bethlehem

7. Cars 2 Pit Stop in Allentown
Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, America On Wheels, 5 N. Front St., Allentown
Allentown is the next stop on the multi-city Promotional Tour for the upcoming summer Disney/Pixar movie, Cars2. The movie’s Lightning McQueen and friends will be at the museum this Saturday, May 7 from 9am-1pm. Mack Trucks is supporting the tour by providing a Pinnacle Mack truck to transport the cars and has also arranged the stop at America On Wheels.
The outside Cars2 event will be FREE and open to the public. Guests will be able to participate in themed activities and will also receive a special agent card with a code. Upon visiting Disney.com guests will enter their code to instantly see if they have won one of 18,000 prizes including the grand prize – a family spy car!
8. Precious Pets Pet Expo & Dog Walk
Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, Allentown Fairgrounds, Allentown
Love animals? This is where you want to be on Saturday. The dog walk is also a benefit for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare.
