Laini’s List of 9 Things To Do This Weekend in the Lehigh Valley
By Laini Abraham
1. Post Junction at Molly’s for Musikfest
Friday from 10pm to 1am, Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Bar, 4 E. 4th St., Bethlehem
Great beer. Awesome LV musicians. Conveniently located between north and south side locations of Musikfest.
2. Sigal Museum’s First Birthday Celebration
Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am to 5 pm, 342 Northampton St., Easton
This is pretty self-explanatory. The Valley’s newest museum turns one. This is where the past meets the future.
3. St. Rocco’s Festival
Friday through Sunday, St. Rocco’s Church, 6658 School Street, Martins Creek
This is one of the Lehigh Valley’s all-time great festivals. If you’ve never had a porketta sandwich, now’s your chance! Don’t miss the Feast of St. Rocco’s Procession at 2 pm on Sunday.
4. Artist’s Reception for “Family Album” – Three Woman Show
Sunday from 1 to 4 pm, Quadrant Bookmart & CoffeeHouse, 20 N. 3rd St., Easton
Always an excellent place to see art. Cozy and intimate upstairs. Coffee and wonderful food downstairs. Oh, and then there’s the books!
5. Celtic Harpist Ellen Tepper performs “History of the Irish Harp”
Friday from 5 to 8 pm, Granny McCarthy’s Tea Room (Donegal Square), 534 Main St., Bethlehem
If you missed Ellen Tepper’s Musikfest performance earlier today, it’s ok! Catch her tonight AND enjoy Granny McCarthy’s “Fish and Chips Night” at the same time.
6. Musikfest Finale Fireworks
Sunday at 9:45 pm, visible from all over downtown Bethlehem
If you’re reading this anytime this weekend, there’s still a ton of Festing to do. Check out the schedule for more info. But the fireworks will mark the closing of what has been an amazing and historic festival this year.
7. Go See an Independent Film
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan – Opens on Friday, 19th Street Theatre, Allentown and Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, Bethlehem

Going to these places will be a far better experience than the multi-plex. I promise.
8. Check Out the Installations of the Art of Urban Environments Festival
Anytime, Various sites throughout Easton, See Website for More Info
More of these artful and sometimes whimsical installations have popped up. They’re worth a walk/bike ride/drive around town to see.
9. Paper of Identity: Contemporary Latin American Printmaking and Graphics
The Banana Factory, 25 W. Third St., Bethlehem
The work of ten different artists, curated by Rigo Peralta. I love paper and love graphics. This looks very cool.
