If you were wandering around Bank Street in Easton last Saturday evening and you heard the sounds of Black Sabbath echoing off the surrounding buildings, hopefully you stopped to take a look. I did, and I was blown away! At the Easton School of Rock on 18 S Bank St, friends, families, faculty and onlookers gathered as the students performed their Best of Season show. They covered many songs from their Black Sabbath and Corporate Rock shows. They performed many great Sabbath covers such as War Pigs and Changes. They blended that with some amazing covers such as Life’s Been Good by Joe Walsh (a personal favorite of mine), Heart’s Barracuda, Come Sail Away by Styx and Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar and many more awesome picks.

The crowd was filled with family, friends, and teachers, along with music director Albie Monterrosa and owners Ray and Sue Thierrin. Ray are Sue are easy to spot at any show. They are the couple front and center with their cameras up and a glow of pride surrounding them at all times. You can tell these kids are not only good at what they do, but they love getting up there and doing it. The show was filled with some amazing guitar solos, impressive drumming skills and vocals that were on par with the musicians they were covering.

Don’t miss the School of Rock kids playing Pigapalooza on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3pm. This event will take place at the Coca Cola Park in Allentown, PA.
