1. The Big Kahuna Party to Benefit MS
Saturday, 8:30 pm to Sunday, 2:00 am, Molly’s Irish Pub & Grille, 4 East 4th Street, Bethlehem
Make the best of the heat and go Hawaiian, at The Big Kahuna Party. Sponsored by Lehigh Valley with Love and Wink Magazine, this MS benefit event is not only for a good cause, but you will get to see fire hoopers, a sword swallower, and participate in a limbo contest. No summer luau is complete without a DJ and specially priced Mai Tais too. Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Donate as much as you can because Molly’s is going to do something really awesome and match whatever is raised! Aloha!
2. Genesis Summer Sale
Thursday through Sunday, Genesis Bicycles, 126 Bushkill St., Easton
There’s no better time to get a bike than at the Genesis Summer Sale. With everything marked down, you are sure to get a great deal. Is it time to update some of your equipment? New riders in the family asking for a set of wheels? Or maybe you don’t have a bike at all and want to get one? This is a great opportunity to get what you’re looking for so you can go ride on the wonderful trails throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Ole Towne Festival
Friday, 6 pm to 10 pm, Saturday, 11:45 am to 10 pm, and Sunday, 12 pm to 9:30 pm, Shappell Park, South Main St., and Walter’s Park, Meyner Rd., Phillipsburg, NJ
Festival season continues with the Ole Towne Festival with our neighbors across the river. The festival enters its 22nd year this year and is a classic summer event. On Friday, come out to see Showcase of the Stars, a singing competition in American Idol style, featuring performers in three different age groups. The rest of the fair will be at Walter’s park, beginning on Saturday at 11:45 am with a parade and opening ceremonies to kick off the weekend. Enjoy live music, entertainment, food, a petting zoo, and a fireworks display at the end of the day on Sunday.
4. Rooftop Flea Market & Sidewalk Sale
Sunday, 12 pm to 4 pm, North Street Parking Garage Roof, 85 West North Street, Bethlehem
The bargains abound at the Rooftop Flea Market. Check out the deals from some of your favorite local vendors at this very unique flea market and sidewalk sale. AbuilleArt will also be there displaying some of their work, along with over 40 other area businesses promoting their merchandise. In the event of rain, the sale will be moved to the level just below the roof.
5. The Great White Caps Perform in Front of Point Break
Saturday, 2 pm, Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem
Live music meets cinema when The Great White Caps perform in front of Point Break. This show is like nothing else as the sound is adjusted while the group performs in front if the movie. Furthermore, it is being held in the Alehouse Cinema, where you are allowed to being your own drinks, including beer and wine! Tickets for the show are $10 for students and members, and $13 for others. The film is rated R, so those under the age of 17 must accompanied by an adult.
6. Brandon Albright Hip Hop Workshop
Saturday, 11 pm to 12:30 pm, Easton Teen Center, 1101 Northampton Street, Easton
The next installment of the Art of Urban Environments Festival takes place this Saturday. Watch Philadelphia dancer/choreographer Brandon Albright as he leads a group of neighborhood youth in a hip-hop show described as “urban art.” This event is produced by the Boys and Girls Club of Easton and Fringe Festival.
7. Emmaus Community Day
Saturday, 1 pm to 10 pm, Emmaus Community Park, 1401 Shimerville Rd, Emmaus
You just can’t get enough outdoor festivals in the Lehigh Valley, and the Emmaus Community Day is right up there with the rest. This free event features music, dance shows, basketball and volleyball tournaments, and an “Old-Timer Baseball Game.” Players from the early days of Emmaus baseball battle it out in a Hunktown boys versus Emmaus classic. Along with the usual fair festivities, visitors will also get a chance to dunk their borough councilmen in a dunk tank!
8. Suicide Awareness Car Show
Sunday, 4 pm to 10 pm, IHOP Parking Lot, 1511 Lehigh St, Allentown
Come to the Suicide Awareness Car Show in memory of Matt Hess. All different types of cars and trucks will be on display at the show including street rods, muscle cars, imports, and trucks. Have a car you like to show off? Then bring it out to the car show! All vehicles are welcome to participate, the entry fee is only $5, and the proceeds go to a good cause. There will also be live entertainment and musical performances as well as a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle. Please learn more about mental illness and help end the stigma.
9. Downtown Allentown Summer Restaurant Week
Monday, July 25th through Sunday, July 31st, Participating Restaurants, Downtown Allentown
Monday marks the beginning of Allentown’s second restaurant week. Participating restaurants will be offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials between $5 and $30. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner as this is sure to be quite popular. Each time you dine you also get a chance to enter a drawing for some really great prizes! So if the summer heat is too much for you to turn on the stove, the grill, or you just want to get out for something new, then go and check out these great restaurant deals!
