The Indy 500 – My View From Beginning to End

By Laini Abraham

With the exception of the first and last few photos, these photos were all taken from about the same spot in the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 29, 2011, the 100th Anniversary of the Indy 500. This spot was located between turns one and two and was reserved by waking up in the middle of the night to get there before the gates opened. We were there from about 6 am til around 4:30 pm. It was long. It was hot. And it was awesome. I have a ton more photos, but I thought this would be an interesting way to share my first Indy 500 with you. Hope you enjoy!

Note: There’s a whole lot of photos here. After you click through the first 12, if you’d like to continue, click on the photo to clear the gallery window, click on the little 2 under the photos, and then you’ll be able to see the final 8. Sorry you can’t just click straight through.
