1. Historic Bethlehem Partnership Community Day

Saturday from 11am to 5pm, Various HBP Locations, Bethlehem

Celebrate Community Day and enjoy free access to Historic Bethlehem Partnership museums and sites, including the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, 1750 Smithy, Burnside Plantation, 1762 Waterworks, and Colonial Industrial Quarter sites and ruins.

 

2. Nowadays – Indie Rock Fest

Friday and Saturday, 4pm to 1am (Concerts start at 5pm), ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem

2 days. 20 bands. All sorts of awesome. Nowadays is presented by ArtsQuest.

 

3. Lehigh Valley Rollergirls’ Season Opener

Saturday from 5 to 8:30pm, Independence Family Fun Center, 4345 Independence Dr., Schnecksville

Don’t miss the action when the Hissy Fits of the Lehigh Valley Rollergirls bout against the Nuclear Knockouts from Harrisburg. Doors open at 5pm and first whistle is at 6pm.  Check out the Lehigh Valley Rollergirls’ awesome website.

 

4. “Colonel Washington and Me” Book Signing

Saturday from 1 to 3pm, Moravian Book Shop, 428 Main St., Bethlehem

From the Moravian Book Shop’s website: “Join us as author Jeffrey Finegan and artist Preston Keith Hindmarch sign copies of their new biography, Colonel Washington and Me. The story is told from the perspective of George Washington’s trusted valet and friend William Lee. The beautifully-designed and illustrated book is wonderful for history lovers of all ages. 5. NY Jazz Repertory Orchestra

Saturday from 8 to 10pm, Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University, 420 E. Packer Ave. Bethlehem

The NY Jazz Repertory Orchestra are NYC-based musicians. They will bring urban-flavored jazz styles to Bethlehem. Bill Warfield, director.

 

6. Humorous & Iconic Artist Reception with Tom Evans

Saturday from 7 to 10pm, NewVox Art Gallery, 425 Wyandotte St., Bethlehem

Tom’s stencil work is full of humor & iconic images. Join us for food, drinks, art and live music.

 

7. Hope for Haiti Benefit Concert

Saturday from 6 to 9pm (doors open at 5:30pm), Shiloh Baptist Church, 403 Pastor Fred Davis St., Easton

Featuring the gospel music of Cheraky Toussaint and VOI Radio, this multicultural event will raise money to benefit Haiti.

 

8. Mystery Unearthed: The Extraordinary Story of Two Lenape Rock Shelters

Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4pm, Museum of Indian Culture, 2825 Fish Hatchery Road, Allentown

“Mystery Unearthed: The Extraordinary Story of Two Lenape Rock Shelters” runs until May 11, 2012. The exhibit features a unique collection of over 200 stone and bone tools, pendants, decorated ceramics, and European trade goods excavated in 1942 from the Broomall Rock Shelter sites in Broomall, Pennsylvania.

 

9. Skindustry Expo 2012

Saturday from 12 to 10pm, Sunday from 12 to 6pm, Holiday Inn Conference Center Lehigh Valley, 7736 Adrienne Dr., Breinigsville
